Coinsnap Bitcoin Shoutout Installation Guide
If you have a WordPress website or blog, you can now easily charge a small fee in sats using the
Coinsnap Bitcoin Donation plugin.
Simply install the plugin, link it to your Coinsnap account, and your visitors must pay a small amount of sats
to leave a comment. All sats received are immediately forwarded and credited to your Lightning Wallet —
either through Coinsnap or your own BTCPay Server gateway.

Coinsnap Bitcoin Shoutout is suitable for beginners and Bitcoin pros alike.
You can choose to use the Coinsnap payment gateway (no tech skills needed) or connect your own BTCPay Server.
Simply select your preferred option and fill in the respective data — up and running in minutes!
Install the Coinsnap Bitcoin Shoutout plugin from the WordPress directory
The Coinsnap Bitcoin Shoutout helps you charge a small Bitcoin fee for comments on your WordPress site —
an effective way to stop spam bots.
You can download it directly from the
WordPress Marketplace
or install it directly within your WordPress dashboard.
Note: The Shoutout is part of the Coinsnap Bitcoin Donation plugin — search for this name in the plugin directory.
- Log into your WordPress backend and go to Plugins → Add New.
- Search for Coinsnap Bitcoin Donation.
- Click Install Now → Activate.
After activation, the plugin appears in the left sidebar as Bitcoin Donations.
Connect your Coinsnap account with the plugin
Bitcoin Donation – Coinsnap Settings
After installation, go to Bitcoin Donations → Settings in the WordPress sidebar.
Choose your payment gateway: Coinsnap or BTCPay Server.
Enter your Store ID and API Key from your Coinsnap dashboard, then click Check.
If the message “Connection successful” appears, your setup is complete.
Finally, click Save changes.

In your Coinsnap account, go to Settings → Store to find your Store ID and API Key.
Copy them into the plugin fields and click Save Changes.
Once saved, you’re ready to receive Bitcoin transactions directly to your wallet.
Create a Bitcoin Shoutout box for your WordPress website
Bitcoin Shoutout Configuration
To configure your Bitcoin Shoutout, open the Shoutout tab in the donation form builder.
Enable Shoutout, select your currency, name your payment button, and give your Shoutout box a title.
- Set a default fee in your local currency.
- Add placeholder text to encourage comments.
- Define a minimum fee in sats and premium Shoutout amount (for highlighted comments).
- Optionally collect user info (hidden, optional, or mandatory).
Click Save Settings, then place the shortcodes for the shoutout box and shoutout list anywhere on your site.
Test the Shoutout
After setup, perform a test transaction:
- Fill out your Shoutout box and click “Donate Sats now!”.
- If required, fill out the additional form fields.
- You’ll be redirected to a Bitcoin payment page with a QR code supporting Bitcoin and Lightning.
- After payment, view the invoice details and confirm successful transaction.
