Install the Coinsnap Bitcoin Crowdfunding plugin from the WordPress directory

The Coinsnap Bitcoin Crowdfunding plugin allows you to raise Bitcoin funds directly on your WordPress site.
You can download it from the
WordPress Marketplace
or install it directly from your WordPress admin panel.

  1. Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
  2. Go to Plugins → Add New.
  3. Search for Coinsnap Bitcoin Crowdfunding.
  4. Click Install Now, then Activate.

The plugin is now installed and listed as Bitcoin Crowdfunding in the WordPress admin sidebar.

Bitcoin Crowdfunding – Coinsnap Settings

After activating the plugin, navigate to Bitcoin Crowdfunding → Settings in your WordPress dashboard.
Select the Coinsnap gateway, then enter your Store ID and API Key from your Coinsnap account.
Click Check to test the connection — if you see a green message saying “Connection successful”, you’re ready.
Don’t forget to click Save Changes.

Copy these into the plugin fields and click Save Changes.

Connect your BTCPay Server with the Coinsnap Bitcoin Crowdfunding plugin

Bitcoin Crowdfunding – BTCPay Server Settings

If you use BTCPay Server instead of Coinsnap, go to Bitcoin Crowdfunding → Settings and select BTCPay.
Enter your BTCPay Server URL and click Generate API Key.
You’ll be redirected to BTCPay Server, where you select your store, authorize the Coinsnap connection, and confirm access rights.

After authorizing, return to WordPress and click Check. You should see the green success message — your BTCPay Server is now connected.

Test your crowdfunding

Once setup is complete, perform a test donation:

  1. Fill out your crowdfunding box and click Donate.
  2. If enabled, fill in donor information.
  3. You’ll be redirected to a Bitcoin payment page showing a QR code for Bitcoin or Lightning payments.
  4. After payment, the crowdfunding box updates to show the new amount and donor message.

How you set up a crowdfunding box

In your WordPress admin, go to Bitcoin Crowdfunding → Crowdfundings and click Add New Crowdfunding.
Name your crowdfunding project, write a short description, set a target goal, choose your default currency, and define predefined donation values.

Enable Collect Donor Info to gather details like first name, email, or other optional fields.
You can choose whether each field is mandatory, optional, or hidden.
